Changing the default client

If you decide that you are no longer satisfied with your client there are a few easy steps you can take to change the default one your box uses.

VNC

  • Open up terminal in your VNC
  • Type the following command
leafpad ~/.bashrc
  • Scroll all the way down to you see a line that starts with CLIENT=
  • Edit this line to either say
    • CLIENT=deluge
    • CLIENT=utorrent
    • CLIENT=rtorrent
    • CLIENT=transmission
  • Save the file
  • Restart your box

SSH

  • Type the following:
nano ~/.bashrc
  • PAGEDOWN all the way down to you see a line that starts with CLIENT=
  • Edit this line to either say
    • CLIENT=deluge
    • CLIENT=utorrent
    • CLIENT=rtorrent
    • CLIENT=transmission
  • Save the file
  • Restart your box

Note: If everything went well your new client should now start up. Remember to check the URL on your dashboard, if you signed up with uTorrent it will point to /gui but Deluge and Transmission use /.
